Vamos…

.”

My first exposure to Spanish occurred as a child during hours spent in the homes of dear friends from Columbia and Argentina, soaking in the language, food, and music along with their friendship. I later traveled to and studied for a year in Costa Rica.

More recently, I had the honor of working for several years in Los Angeles as a bilingual therapist with children and families whose primary language was Spanish. These experiences have all solidified my deep appreciation and respect for the language and cultural influences of Spain, Central America, and South America.

I recognize that my experiences will never be the same as having been born and raised within those cultures, with Spanish as a first language. However, I agree with the axiom that a person, “who learns a new language acquires a new soul.” Therefore, I offer my understanding of Spanish as another vehicle of expression to those who may appreciate it.
